i have cooked with green lip mussels before, but these were amazing.  rew had them shipped from new zealand.  live green lip mussels.  the only ones i have ever seen have been frozen.  these were alive and in montana.  never thought id ever see that.  we served them several diffrent ways and sold over 40 pounds in three days.

my last day off was splendid.  a 30 mile float down the yellowstone river through beautiful paradise valley.  an overnight camp out on an island and a mad dash back to work.  i was a little late.  by the way did i mention that i live in montana…?

my hosts.  my buddy christian and his girl friend betsy.  its her fathers boat.  a good time was had by all.  christian was a little under the weather when we put in but it was his own fault.  many beers were drank,  many fish were caught,  much fun was had.

a nice size rainbow trout i caught.  i wish i could have eaten him but i let him go.

i just returned home from jackson wyoming.  nursing a hangover from the night before.  myself and some friends drove down to see the melvins and big business at the mangy moose in jackson hole.  we stayed at my aunts condo.  when i was a kid my family would spend one week every summer at this condo.  thats probably one of the reasons i ended up in montana.  it was fantastic to see one of my favorite bands in one of my favorite places.  now its time to go back to work.
